All Office apps had been running with no problems since July, I mention the Windows updates as a time reference and not necessarily the cause of the problem. When opening Word on the in Windows 10, the blue loading circle appears in place of the cursor. If any part of the Word screen is clicked, " Not Responding " appears in the top left of the Word window. When clicking on a text file, whether with a doc, rtf or docx qualifier, the file loads but the blue loading circle appears in place of the cursor once again.
I have uninstalled Office Pro Plus twice, and I've reinstalled it a half dozen times to no avail. What can I do to get Word working again? Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Quick repair did nothing to correct the problem. I will once again reinstall Office and then try some of your other suggestions. Got a message other than "Not Responding". Thanks for your suggestion, but on a whim I uninstalled Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and tried to start Word again. I think there may have been a conflict between Malwarebytes and Office.

Do let me know if these don't work for you. If not, I will provide further troubleshooting steps to you to solve this problem. Try repairing your office installation Quick repair is good enough. Try repairing your Office installation.
Sometimes, add-ins can cause problems. To determine, if add-in is a problem start your application in safe mode and see if problem has gone away. If yes, then start application normally and disable add-ins one by one and start application again every time you disable an add-in to determine the culprit add-in.
Login to Windows with a new user profile and see if problem is resolved. Sometimes, this is caused due to application not being able to access the default printer. If this is the problem, then you will need to update your printer driver for default printer.
If you want to know if some program is conflicting - Boot your computer in Clean boot mode and then start the application. If it works successfully, then some program is conflicting with this. Refer to the section - How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot.
Don't forget to do - Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting. In reply to Vijay A. Verma's post on March 19, In addition to my previous reply: 2. Running Word in Safe Mode made no difference. Created a new user profile and logged into it. No difference. Verify default printer. Did not execute. Ran a System Restore in Safe Mode.
